The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration yesterday reiterated its warning on the e-mail scam that requires victims to send P3,700 through a mail courier.
The e-mail sender offers supposed employment as health workers and other hospital staff in the United States or Canada with employer representatives already in the Philippines to interview selected applicants.
Applicants are asked to attend an orientation seminar and pay P3,700 slot reservation fee. To show a semblance of credibility, the scammer claims existing partnership with a randomly selected licensed recruitment agency in the Philippines for the supposed processing of employment documents.
The scammer promises non-payment of placement and processing fees, and sometimes on the job training with pay. The victims are instructed to send the amount through a money remittance company but after receiving the payment, the scammer stops communicating with them
