A new scam is brewing in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Facebook user Angie Nogot posted on her Facebook timeline the alleged scam. It has gained 1,817 shares since its time of posting.
Nogot shared that she and her Japanese husband and son were in NAIA bound for Japan on January 24. She went to pay for her traveling tax and was asked to pay P1,620 for her son and P200 for her.
Nogot said she was a permanent resident of Japan, but the NAIA personnel insisted she has to pay P200. She handed her alien card and passport to the personnel, and a little while the staff asked her why she doesn’t have a Japanese surname.
To her surprised, her passport did not show her surname. Nogot claimed the NAIA personnel asked her to show her marriage contract. By this time, she had wiped off the liquid paper eraser covering her Japanese surname.

She started to make a scene after realizing that she was being scammed.
The personnel immediately panicked and turned their back while still holding the documents.
Nogot reminded the travelers to be attentive and to keep an eye on their documents.
She tried to take a photo of the personnel, then flipped her ID card.

Why can’t NAIA administrators stopped this insanity? This is not only disappointing within our borders but hugely embarrashing in the world community! if you people out there do’nt respect yourselves by tolerating this humiliating defect of how to run such an entity, then at least respect the positions that were intrusted to you.
