Contract Renewal For Foreign Domestic Helpers In Hong Kong Made Fast And Easy
Domestic helpers in Hong Kong, mostly foreigners, are urged by the Hong Kong Immigration Department to avail a so-called appointment system that lets applicants submit their application via online instead of by post.
According to the immigration spokesman, the renewal of application is usually at peak when it comes to summer holiday. Another government statement was released and it says that to avoid the high volume of walk-in applicants, they have successfully deployed enough manpower to fix the issue. It is also encouraged to by the government to make appointments through specific timeslots or even use other alternatives to enhance greater convenience.
Aside from the in-person application, it is also encourage by the Immigration Department to apply within a span of 8 weeks before the expiry of their contracts. Submission of applications are welcome at www.gov.hk/esbooking or through their hotline 2598 0888.
