Raizel loves to join beauty pageants because she is beautiful. But just after 2 years, she encountered a huge change in her appearance that devastated her so much.

When Raizel was 14-years-old, she joined beauty contests in Arakan, Cotabato. But last February 2019, when she was 16-years-old, there was a huge change in her appearance. In 2021, she now looks like a 50-year-old woman.
Raizel was featured in an episode of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.” In the episode, the 16-year-old Raizel had wrinkled skin and a face. She is also suffering from pain in her back whenever she stands up after sitting down for a long period of time.

Joela, the 36-year-old mother of Raizel couldn’t help but feel sorry for her child especially when other people see Raizel be much older than her.
Joela didn’t know what really happened to her young and beautiful daughter. Everything started last 2019 when Raizel felt some changes in her body. There were some red spots and bumps on her skin. These changes on her skin feel itchy, says Raizel.
Since then, the appearance of Raizel started to change. Because of that, even before the pandemic happened, Raizel usually uses a face mask to cover her face.

But according to the experts who managed to check the condition of Raizel, the teenager is suffering from a rare condition called “Progeria”. This condition accelerates the changes of the body, making the person look older than her age. There are only 200 documented cases all over the world.
Is there a cure for Raizel’s condition?
