Kuwait Sends Back 19 Undocumented Filipino Children To The Philippines

KUWAIT – Nineteen undocumented Filipino children in Kuwait were forced to go home to the Philippines. This is the largest number of undocumented children sent home to the Philippines.

Most of these children were born in Kuwait from unmarried parents and some are married yet their income didn’t reached the appointed monthly salary in Kuwait, which is the reason why their children were not registered legally.

Some of these children have parents with no expired residence visa some others were left there by their parents who were earlier sent back to the Philippines.

According to the Social Welfare Attaché, this is so far the biggest number of undocumented children sent back to the Philippines, some of them are with their parents. Despite their deportation, some mothers were happy that they can finally go home to the Philippines.

Kuwaiti law appoints KWD250 (USD900) or more for foreigners so they can bring both their wife and children to Kuwait.

This move is to stop the rising number of undocumented children staying in Kuwait. The Kuwait Immigration Department also aims to help these children have a better life in Philippines, a good education and conducive environment.

The Philippine Embassy encourages all parents who have undocumented Filipino children in Kuwait to let their wife and children go home and take advantage of this opportunity.

IMPORTANT

All those who want to bring their children home may enlist at the embassy shelter in Hateen for the processing of their travel documents and clearance. The embassy shelter is located at Block 2, Street 217, Villa 42 or they may call the embassy repatriation hotline +96598005115 for all the requirements.
