Customs Commissioner Alberto Lina is now facing charges of plunder, graft and corruption, criminal conflict of interest.

Despite Announcing Divest Over 16 Major Companies, Lina Still Uses His Position To Ease Competitors Company

According to the congressman-elect, Harry Roque Jr., Customs Commissioner Alberto Lina allegedly cornered multibillion-peso contract from companies that has direct deals against the Bureau of Customs.

Because of the said accusations, Lina is now greeted with lots of charges involving graft and corruption, dishonesty, plunder, grave of power, and others which was filed by Omniprime Marketing Inc., This company is one of Lina’s tight competitor in his company, E-Konek Pilipinas Inc.

All these allegations were denied by Belle Maestro, the Customs head. According to her, Lina has already divested all his current asset so as to avoid conflict with role as being the Customs commissioner.

From the first day of his assumption on his post, Lina promised to divest all his assets including the 6 out of 17 companies which are directly transacting in the Bureau of Customs. In a statement, Lina said that he loves the country more than anything else and is willing to serve and help people.

However, just after a week after the assumption of his post, Lina started the activity of running through his companies’ competitors. He even had a company to cancel a multimillion contract, P650-million, and made his company as the service provider.

Lina also allegedly refused to respond to charges over the 771 missing shipments from the Zest Air company, approximately worth P1.5 billion.

Up to this day, Lina is the owner and stock holder of 16 major companies. Primo Aguas, the Customs Deputy Commission and Lino were both charged with different cases.
