It is always painful to hear your countrymen being criticized by other nations. Just like this Bangladeshi Ambassador who seems like having a huge despise towards Filipinos. John Gomes allegedly called Filipinos “thieves” and “prostitutes”.
Philippine Star journalist, Alex Magno, said that the Ambassador oftentimes throw tantrums at the Philippine Embassy, targeting Filipinos. There was even a time when his envoy threw trash towards a Filipino employee.
The alleged revelation came out after a Filipina worker who got terminated from work because of Gomes wrote a letter regarding the untoward behaviour of the Bangladeshi Ambassador. She revealed in her letter that Gomes refused to give her benefits upon termination. He also throws insults to Filipinos and Benigno Aquino III, former President of the Philippines.
The terminated Filipina is Alona T. Contridas who later on filed a complaint into the National Labor Relations Commission against the Bangladeshi Ambassador. In addition to that, Contridas is paid P12,000 instead of P15,000 as her salary. The envoy allegedly took the P3,000 from the salary.
Aside from the skimming of salary, Gomes allegedly calls her “stupid lady” or “dirty woman” in front of other people.
Magno wrote that Gomes often call Filipinos “thieves” and “almost half of women from the Philippines are prostitutes”. He also described the previous President, Benigno Aquino III as the “Most Stupid President in the World”.
Whether the former President knew this issue is currently unknown. For now, the case is forwarded to the Court of Appeals (CA).
Gomes is also the same official pressuring the return of $81 Million which was allegedly stolen by Philippine hackers from the central bank.
