Steps and Requirements When Securing The New Postal ID

Postal ID is a government-issued ID which is considered as the fastest and easiest to get. That is the reason why Filipinos prefer to obtain it rather than other government-issued IDs for personal purposes.

Anyone can apply for a postal ID and it has no age limit. Even Filipinos residing abroad can still apply for a postal ID. Foreigners can also apply to acquire a postal ID as long as they stayed in the Philippines for a minimum of six months.

Requirements:

  1. Postal ID Application form which can be obtained in the Philpost office – 2 Copies
  2. Proof of Identity – 1 Copy
  • Birth Certificate authenticated by the National Statistics Office
  • SSS UMID Card/GSIS Card
  • Passport
  • Marriage Certificate authenticated by the National Statistics Office (for married applicants)
  • Driver’s License

Other Supporting Documents:

  • Baptismal Certificate
  • Confirmation Certificate
  • Marriage Certificate (in SECPA or LCR) issued by the National Statistics Office
  • For Indigenous People –Birth Certificate from NCIP (National Commission for Indigenous People)
  • For Muslim Filipinos – Birth Certificate from NCMP (National Commission for Muslim Filipinos)
  • Transcript of Records (College or Post Graduate) with dry seal
  • Form 137 (Elementary or High school) with dry seal
  • Valid Alumni ID, School ID, Company ID, Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID, OWWA ID, PAG-IBIG ID, Philhealth ID, PRC ID, Senior Citizen ID, Voter’s ID, and BIR ID
  • Previous Postal ID
  • Tax Identification Number Card
  • NBI Clearance
  • Seaman’s Book
  • Police Clearance

 

  1. Proof of Address
  • Barangay Clearance (Original and Photocopy)
  • Bank Statement, Credit Card Statement, School Billing Statement
  • Certified True Copy of Lease, Titles and Real Estates
  • Tax Receipts
  • Utility Bill (landline, water, electric, cable, internet and telephone)

 

For Foreign Nationals

  1. Application Form (2 Copies)
  2. Proof of Identity
  • Passport valid at least six months
  • Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card (ACRI-Card)
  • Long Stay Visitor Visa Extension (LSVVE)
  • Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)
  • Diplomatic Visa
  • Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV)
  1. Proof of Address – Any of the following:
  • Barangay Certificate of Residency (issued minimum of three months)
  • Certification from any temporary residents (hotel, apartments, transient homes, etc.)
  • Notarized Lease of Contract (land, house or condominium)
  • Bank Statement, Credit Card Statement, School Billing Statement
  • Utility Bill (water, electric, cable, telephone, landline and internet)

Steps On How To Acquire Postal ID

  1. Prepare the above requirements and submit to the post office near you.
  2. Properly fill up the secured application form.
  3. The personnel will check your documents and will direct you to the ID Capturing Station for your photo and fingerprint.
  4. You will pay P504.00 for the Postal ID.

Benefits:

  • Can be used as one of the basic requirement when applying for a passport.
  • Postal ID is valid within 3 years and can be accepted by almost all government/private dealings.
  • Listed as a primary card due to its added features.
  • Postal ID holders can get a P1.00 discount/liter of fuel and P5.00 per liter for lubricants.
