Unemployed Filipina in HK Arrested After She Left Her Children At Home Overnight

After leaving her children at home just to drink overnight, a jobless Filipina was arrested by police in Kowloon, Hong Kong last Friday.

According to reports, the Filipina was arrested because of suspected child abuse because she managed to leave her children in their home at Wellcome Mansion.  Her neighbor saw the children crying 5-year-old and 2-year-old, at their window. They alerted the police immediately.

The Filipina woman is unemployed and is raising her children alone after her Tunisian husband was denied re-entry. Her husband got to Hong Kong as a refugee and at the same time, torture claimant. The woman, however, have a Hong Kong identity card.

The family is now under monitoring of Social Welfare Development in Hong Kong even before the incident happened. The two children will also be provided with childcare services.
