For OFWs, having a vacation after a finished contract in working abroad is the happiest moment in their lives. But what should have been a happy vacation became a nightmare for an OFW who was maltreated by her live-in partner.
The incident was reported via GMA News “Unang Balita” on its episode aired last Tuesday.
According to the report, the incident happened in Bangued, Abra where a man has electrocuted the tummy of his partner with the use of an exposed extension wire. He also beat her head with cooking pots and pulled her hair after she expressed her desire to leave him and get out of their relationship.
The woman was only able to escape and get out of danger from the hands of her partner after her relatives came to the rescue. The man was beaten by the woman’s relatives in turn.

The suspect has been arrested and jailed at Bangued Municipal Police Station and will be charged with cases of Violence Against Women and their Children Act,.
Investigations reveal that the partners has been blessed with 5 children and the OFW was scheduled to go back to Hong Kong tomorrow, Thursday, to continue her work.
However, the names of these two were not revealed in the report to perhaps protect their identities for the sake of their children.
