Filipinos are known for being hardworking and multi-taskers.

The main reason why OFWs leave their families to work abroad is in order to provide them with a better, comfortable life. And because they wanted to earn more, they are willing to take extra miles of work.

On August 11, Sunstar shared some true-to-life stories of OFWs mirrored on a short film by

The film is relatable to most OFWs who take more workloads to earn extra money which they would send to their families in the Philippines.

Like Dolores Perez who is a registered nurse working in Dubai, she discovered that she can perform a massage after a friend commended her for a good massage.  Since then, during her off from work, she would render massage service.

Perez claimed she chose to perform massage because it only lasts for an hour and the client would have to pay an extra amount in excess of 1 hour.  That gives her an opportunity to earn more.

“I chose to give a message as my sideline because it only lasts for an hour, no more, no less.”  “If a client wants to extend the session, then she must pay extra.”

For Teddy Santos, Jr. living and working in Italy for 18 years as a Pharmacist,  he had multiple jobs which he enjoyed because of the flexibility of working hours apart from his regular work.

“It’s tiring and sometimes the travel time between jobs is challenging”.

“But the work that I do every day pays good money and is enough to support my family.”

Aside from being multi-stackers, the film also tackles the importance of balancing income and expenses.  It emphasizes living within the means and not living above pay grade.

While OFWs may find better opportunities to earn extra income, it would also be important to learn how to save for the future.

Putting money in the bank is a wise decision because it grows over time.  OFWs can deposit their money in a bank to make sure it is secured.
