A Filipino in Hong Kong is bound over for $2,000 after allegedly biting his wife’s arm and breaking her finger in a fit of anger.
The defendant identified only as F.C was earlier charged with bodily harm into his wife during an argument that took place on August 31, 2019, around 1 am.
According to reports, the husband grabbed his wife’s hand violently leaving her with a broken left index finger. After that, he bit the left arm of his wife. Following the incident, the defendant runs away. His wife reported the encounter to the police before going to the hospital to treat her injuries.
The medical report proved that the wife suffered bruises on her left arm, index finger, left forehead, and left hand. Aside from that, she also had swelling on her left index finger and redness left ring finger.
On January 9, 2020, the husband surrendered at the Tsimshatsui Police Station and admitted to having hurt his wife during an argument.
Magistrate Siu ordered bound over for $2,000 for 18 months and a court payment of $300.
“Your offense is serious and it happened inside your home. I hope this will be the first and last time you commit this offense. If you re-offend within 18 months, you will face a jail term,” says the magistrate.
