A pitiful Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) died alone in a foreign land without even seeing his family for the last time.
In a Facebook post, images of a man sitting in a corner can be seen. It turns out that the man is a Filipino worker in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The OFW was identified as Patricio Lacanilao, from Pampanga, Philippines. According to reports, he passed away due to heatstroke. People who saw him called an ambulance but he was denied medical assistance because “the hospitals are already full”.

“I hope we can help this Kabayan who lost his life due to stroke, as the temperature here in Batha, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is very hot,” says the Facebook post. “He is from Pampanga as I was able to talk to him when he was still alive.”
Due to the overwhelming number of patients with COVID-19 nowadays, other patients get denied medical assistance. As of June 7, there are already 101,914 COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia and 72,817 recoveries. Only 712 reportedly passed away due to the disease.
