Just because of the missing part of a mixer, a Filipina domestic worker suffered physical abuse by her employer.
According to Aibelle Poniente, she was hit with a figurine, kicked, and grabbed by the hair by her female employer. The said incident happened recently, last October 23.
Aibelle was pleading with her employer to stop but the abuse still went on. Because of the incident, she acquired bruises all over her body.
Fortunately, through the help of her fellow OFWs, Poniente managed to escape from her employer and she asked for help at the Philippine Consulate in Jeddah.
“Babayaran daw po ako ng asawa niya ng 1,000 Saudi Riyals makipagclose lang po ako, sabi ko sir hindi 1,000 Saudi Riyals ang buhay ko,” says Poniente whi acquired wounds on her head and bruises all over her body.
The husband of Aibelle, meanwhile, cannot accept that his wife suffered so much.
According to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), the employer of Aibelle is already blacklisted.
“POEA will monitor this case and coordinate with the agency which deployed the OFW. In case of violation, proper sanctions will be imposed,” says POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia.
Furthermore, POEA promised to provide help to the distressed OFW on her case and the repatriation proceedings.
