How to Obtain New Postal ID

The Philippine Postal Corporation is now issuing a new postal ID card that is valid and acceptable to any office or agency just like the other government-issued IDs.

The new postal ID card has electronic security features, making it hard to be copied. Unlike the old card, it is hardbound like an ATM card. It can be used and valid for three years. And since it is acceptable to any offices, this newly-issued postal ID can now be used to acquire a passport.

To apply for a new postal ID, bring the original and photocopy of the following documents:

• Birth Certificate issued by NSO or Local Civil Registrar
• Proof of Address like Barangay Clearance or utility bill (electricity bill, water bill, credit card statement and the like).

Notes:

• Married females are required to present their Marriage Certificate to validate the change of name from birth document.
• Parent or a legal guardian must accompany minors or those below 18 years.
