A Filipina domestic worker is making a name for herself in social media, though not in a good way.
The three-minute video posted on Facebook by user Bugoyon Pero Tam-is shows a woman in a bathroom with another man. The woman has just finished taking a bath, but is being video-taped by the man.
Tam-is assumes that the woman in the video has a family in the Philippines but is having an affair with the man. As a caption to the video, he wrote “Filipinas are being further looked down because of a few people’s doings.” As of posting, the video has been viewed 398,000 times, liked 2,534 times, and shared 8,000 times.
Reactions to the video are mixed. While others thought lowly of the woman, others came to her defense. Filipino domestic helpers, after all, are usually subject to ill treatment by their employers, particularly the male ones. One netizen has pointed out that the woman looked uncomfortable as she was being video-taped and did not enjoy the attention from the man at all.

Eh kung di ba naman gago yung nag post ng video….eh siya pala etong sisira sa image ng mga filipina….Ano po ba adhikain ninyo mr. Bugoyon Pero-Tam at para ipost nyo pa??? Bilyon tao sa mundo…mas malala pa yung mga nangyayari sa iba…Ang point ko is ano purpose ng pag post..para maging sikat yung nag post or para manghiya ng kapwa…KILALA NA TAYONG MGA PILIPINA N MABABANG URI..HUWAG NA SANANG GATUNGAN PA!!!
