Occupy Bugasong, a peaceful protest for the slow process of Emergency Shelter Assistance for the victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda in Antique hoping to reach their voices to Department of Social Welfare and Development Sec. Dinky Soliman and whosever concerned with it.
I would like to thank Mr. Jose Allan Sanchez Bartolo for the strength and courage to plan and organize this peaceful protest in Bugasong, Antique, gathering people with frustrations and anger and endless hope. Millions of financial assistance came from other countries but nothing reach their place… A broken promise that hurts the people from our government, pointing fingers where the fund is? Where is the assistance that should be given to them Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) amounted P30,000.00 for ‘totally damaged’ and P10,000.00 for ‘partially damaged’.

As far as the people of Bugasong remembered, they signed supporting documents so that they can receive some assistance to start their lives after the Typhoon Yolanda but until now,it’s just a draw on the water. Are help and money still saved? or pocketed by other politicians? We know how politics drive Philippines but at this point of time… people really need help… poor people who strive to eat 3 meals a day, to send their children to school, to have a simple, safer and better life.

Through this protest they just want to know the reason why the assistance for them still unknown. Waiting and hoping for the result. Im not from Bugasong, Antique but watching those videos

Seeing their photos give me a chance to write and share what I felt. I am sad and hopeless for our people but through this, we encourage them to be firm and fight for their rights as citizens.

Lastly I thank God for those people who helped in their own way. To those families who stay strong, live a simple and happy life. To those who have courage to be the voice of everybody. God bless you all.
