A 28-year-old Indian man and a 25-year-old Filipino woman have been jailed for a year for kissing in public on a beach in Dubai.

An Emirati child spotted the couple “wrestling.” He told his mother who immediately called the police.
The couple, co-workers in a McDonald’s in Dubai, spent a year in jail, after which they were reported. The two were also seen in an intimate situation from the lifeguard tower of the same beach.
The two admitted to the police that they were a couple and that they drank alcohol without a license, but they did not plead guilty to kissing in public. The man said that the woman had an asthma attack and he merely performed CPR.
Aside from jail time and deportation, they were also fined 1,000 dirham (12,450 Peso) each for consuming alcohol without a license.
