Despite his financial needs, this honest taxi driver has decided to return the money left by an OFW amounting to P300, 000 pesos.
Anselmo Nava lives in a small house in Iloilo City together with his siblings and their families. He became an instant celebrity after returning a big amount of cash left in his cab last December 18. Despite all the acknowledgement upon his honest act, he chose to celebrate Christmas in a simple way.
They don’t even have decorations in their home yet they don’t mind. According to Nava, what’s important is honesty and the thought that someone should not be blinded by money which is actually not yours.
According to Nava, despite his financial struggles, he is contented with what he has and returning the money which is not his is only a must. He just wants to provide basic necessities to his family especially food.
A board member of LTFRB gave the taxi driver P10,000 for his honest act. But instead of spending it just for his own good, he preferred to share it with his siblings and their families. His wife and friends is also very proud of his husband. According to them, Nava is a good example of an honest taxi driver.
