Despite several warnings to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), particularly to those with families, to refrain from having romantic relationships while abroad, two OFWs in Singapore were caught having an affair with each other.
Said OFWs are Roderick Angeles Vargas and Liezel Apostol. Vargas is married with two children.
The affair was posted on the Facebook page “Overseas Filipino Workers – OFW”, where it has received 298 likes and 490 shares as of writing.
OFWs criticized Vargas and Apostol for the affair. One of the admins of the Facebook page is a friend of Vargas’ wife. She posted the photo of the two because she couldn’t stomach what was happening.
The admin said that Vargas has had a history of cheating on his wife Rose, who is currently in Olongapo City. It has also been found out that Vargas and Apostol are currently living together in Singapore.
Vargas has reportedly apologized to Rose and promised to change his cheating ways, but seems to have broken his promised after posting a photo of him and Apostol on Facebook. The admin also noted that Apostol is aware that Vargas has a family but pretends to be Vargas’ wife.
The admin aims to humiliate Vargas and Apostol so that they shall learn their lesson. Although Vargas’ religion is Iglesia ni Cristo, it is still wrong for a married man to have an affair.
She hopes that there will no longer be immorality among OFWs so that no more families will be ruined.
