Another overseas Filipino worker (OFW) has fallen victim in the abusive hands of her employer.
Her plea for help was recorded by a certain Bambi Uyan, who accombanied her to Al-Adan Hospital. Uyan’s video showed the OFW lying down and wearing a neck brace.
Uyan told the OFW to tell her story, which she did, tearfully. She said she was beaten up by her employer, and had been beaten up for a long time. She expressed her intent to leave her employer to the agency, who rejected her pleas.
The OFW’s pleas remained unanswered by the agency until that fateful day when her employer beat her up so bad that she was sent to the hospital.
Uyan said the OFW’s agency was nowhere to be found during these circumstances. The OFW said she was from Sorsogon, and she is asking for help for her family to be contacted.
One commenter named Hengie Taton said the incident was already reported to the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait. Another commenter said that the OFW’s sister from Australia has already been contacted.
Taton later said the OFW is now in stable condition.
Uyan calls out the agencies who do not care about the domestic workers after their deployment to the other countries.
