OFW in Saudi Arabia Rummages Garbage Just To Earn For His Food. His Request For Help Is Just Heartbreaking!

Instead of bringing home cash and some goods, this OFW from Saudi Arabia brought home a video of him rummaging the trash just to have something to eat. His only wish is for the government to help his fellow OFWs in Saudi who are also suffering in a foreign land.

Leo Torres, considered this video as a souvenir after all his experiences in Damam, Saudi Arabia. According to him, every morning, he searches the garbage for plastic and cans of soft drinks. He then sells it to the junk shop so he can buy food for his daily consumption. One kilo of plastic and soft drink cans cost 2 Riyal or P24.00. He saves his earning to buy food and prepaid load so he can talk to his family in the Philippines.

Mang Leo belongs to the 300 OFW’s who are suffering like a hostage of the construction company he was previously employed. He wasn’t able to receive his salary for one year because his company was bankrupt due to the lowering prices of gas in the market.

Just this March 29, Mang Leo had the chance to go home but he wasn’t able to bring anything aside from the hearing failure he acquired while working in the construction company.

Just like other fellow OFWs in Saudi, Mang Leo’s work permit has expired already. Going out of their camp is very dangerous because there are a lot of police officers roaming around.

Despite bringing nothing to his family in the Philippines after he got home, the feeling of coming home is totally satisfying especially because he suffered so much in Saudi. Some of his fellow workers are losing their hope, some even resulted to ending their lives.
