Three children ages three-, one-year, and eight months are covered in dirt and wounds were left chained and abandoned by their parents. The one-year-old and the eight-month-old resort to crying out their hunger.

Neighbor John Michael Ancheta, the children haven’t eaten for the past three days since their parents left. He claimed that the parents would beat up the children by the time they come home. Ancheta would try to feed the children, but the parents would stop them.

ABS-CBN facilitated the rescue of the children with the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Quezon City. The children’s grandmother came during the rescue, and she was in disbelief of the situation.

Soon, social workers entered the house by climbing down the window, hurriedly bringing the children to the DSWD office, where they were bathed, dressed, and fed.

According to the doctor who checked the children, they were severely dehydrated and malnourished. They have also contracted a bacterial infection, which meant they have to be confined in a hospital.

DSWD discovered that this is the second time the parents have abandoned the children; thus, they will be held accountable for their actions. It was also found out that the parents agreed with the barangay that the incident will not happen again.

The grandmother is determined to file charges against the parents.

DSWD calls on the parents to come forth to explain their side of the story. However, even if they come forth, it will be difficult for them to get their children back.
