A Filipina based in the French city of Nice remembered chaos and mangled bodies moments after a heavy truck driven by a gunman ploughed into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day.
Emily Miclat narrated that the truck rammed through the crowd after the firecrackers, killing many people. They were down by the beach when the attack happened. They ran into a rooftop and saw the many mangled bodies.
The attack, done by a 31-year-old Tunisian-born Frenchman, killed at least 84 people and injured lots of others.
Miclat’s initial reaction was that they were under attack by terrorists based on how the truck charged on the crowd.
She said no Filipinos were hurt in the incident, but they were told to take extra precaution and stay indoors afterward.
Due to the attack, traffic was rerouted, making it difficult for her to go to work.
