Illegal recruitment is one of the main causes of abuse towards our Overseas Filipino Workers. Most of these cases end up in vain because the documents are done illegally by agencies who are just trying to extort money from interested clients.

It is illegal to send minors to work abroad. But it seems like the designated agencies were blindfolded by these illegal agencies. She was 17-year-old yet she was declared 24-year old in the agency she hired. It is still a mystery as to why she was able to pass through the security measure of the Philippine Immigration and Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
A certain Lee Canete posted in her social media account the concerns she got regarding the possible abuse that the child might get from her employers. She helped the child to go back home to the Philippines and the child also wanted to be with her family.
This case should be addressed by designated agencies so as not to happen again to innocent children.
