After the employer’s testimony, Don So Man-lung, Kwun Tong Magistrate, ruled that the suspect only forgot the payment of HK$363.70 for the goods she bought.

According to the prosecution, MBN bought beef ribs, pork ribs, sauces, luncheon meat, and pineapple last July 12. She then paid the 4 cups of noodles but refused to pay the other items. She was then confronted by the shop manager which is speaking in Cantonese. The Filipina couldn’t give an answer and she was instantly brought to the manager’s office where then police officers arrived.

In the court hearing, the domestic helper had her monthly period that day which was very painful due to Endometriosis, she was also depressed that the mistress of her husband was pregnant and the knee of her eldest daughter was hurt. She also said that she still went to the supermarket despite pain because she do not want to disappoint her kind employers that she is serving for 8 years now.

A psychologist was also asked by her employer to conduct tests to MBN and said that depression could lead to major depressive disorder.

The female employer felt pity as the Filipina helper said her testimony while the male employer noticed that she was quite than usual.
