An OFW in Lebanon allegedly suffered sexual abuse by her male employer but her agency refused to help her. She was allegedly groped in her private parts and kissed many times by her employer.
A certain Amorsolo Rayon, father of the abused OFW, asked for help because his daughter was allegedly abused by her employer in Lebanon. According to the 51-year old man from Nueva Vizcaya, his daughter asked for help from her family because even her agency refused any forms of help.
According to Julie Grace Maneja, the abused OFW, the father of her employer tried to kiss her many times and even touched her breasts.
She is connected to a Lebanese agency. It was also suspected that she is a victim of illegal trafficking since she do not have an agency in the Philippines.
Currently, she is staying in the house of her employer’s brother.
“Pra sa mga kababayan natin na OFW, ‘wag na ‘wag kayong magpapaloko sa mga recruiter lalo na sa mga individual kahit na ito’y endorse ng iyong kamag-anak, kaibigan or kung sino mang kakilala nyo. Kailangan yung recruiter ninyo ay empleyado or recruiter talaga ng isang recruitment agency na accredited ng Philippine Overseas Employment Authority (POEA). At kailangan, ito ay lisensyadong ahensya para di tayo naloloko, nap ag dumarating ang pagkakataong ganito, napakahirap I locate ang mga ganitong individual. Kasi we don’t know whether the name of this person is real or false,” said Josephine Tubra from OWWA.
Through the help of OWWA, DFA, Philippine Embassy and anti-trafficking agency, the maltreated OFW will soon be rescued from her employer’s house.
