One of the instructions of the President is to speed up the processing time of documents acquired from all government agencies. To address this issue, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) created a system called iDOLE or ID of the Department of Labor and Employment.
Under iDOLE, Overseas Filipino Workers will have an identification card. Information like the Overseas Employment Certificate of OFWs is integrated here.

But this OFW card is not solely for fast access of OECs. It is also interconnected with SSS.
This OFW ID card is valid for 2 years and free of charge.

Blas Ople Center, a non-profit organization, supports this new system of DOLE. Still, they have further details to clarify.
“Isang milyon at isang detalye na dapat maipaliwanag sa ordinaryong OFW. Gusto naming equipped din kami para ipaliwanag. Dapat may transition phase yan. Kasi napaka-importante ng papel ng OEC sa buhay ng isang OFW, ano yung target na timeline para bawat isa sa kanila meron nang ID,” said Susan Ople, President of Blas F. Ople Policy Center and Training Institute.
