Another Filipino overseas worker seeks help from Raffy Tulfo for being held by employer for failing to pay the amount of 25 thousand Riyals (P 340,000.00). The said amount has been required from the OFW which she incurred during her hospitalization after a vehicular accident.
According to the post of a certain Rhemz Makinay Panda, an OFW working in Jeddah, it was on June 26 while she was with her employer when they had an accident. She was then required to undergo an operation because of acquiring a leg fracture on July 13 where a metal has been inserted into her legs. This made her hospitalization bills totalled to 25 thousand Riyals.
Rhemz’s employer was requiring her to settle the full amount after she expressed her desire to go back to the Philippines. However, her employer said she can only go home provided she will be able to settle her hospital bills which is definitely impossible for her to do since she doesn’t have that big amount.
She also said that despite she hasn’t fully recovered yet which made it difficult to pursue her work, she was already required to work and even got reprimanded by her employer. It was learned however that she already asked help from the agency and was advised to wait but unfortunately, a month has passed but the agency haven’t arranged her departure yet.
She claimed that the agency will be providing a replacement for her but apparently, should that be the case, she will still be obliged to settle her hospital bills. This led to the idea of seeking Raffy Tulfo’s help instead.
The OFW is even quite worried now saying she might not be able to eat in the days to come as she only depends for food from a co-helper who was scheduled to take a vacation this month.
