A lot of people think that when you work abroad, you are effortlessly mining foreign currencies and buying anything that you want in life. This is a misconception that has long been left uncorrected. So many OFWs, especially domestic workers are unappreciated by their employers. They are mistreated as though they are less of a person.
But enough with these devastating stories because there are still A LOT of domestic workers who are enjoying the work they have with their kind-hearted employers. Although considered lucky, these domestic workers are treated like they are part of the family. Some videos surfaced online in which the employers and their families were tearfully saying goodbye to their Filipino helpers as she goes home to the Philippines for good.
Just like this Facebook user in the name of Jenife Racho Atsac. She shared that her employer never lets her pay for her personal needs, even some of her wants like some Filipino food that she craves.
According to Jenife, her employer is always like that. She likes to treat her despite insisting to pay for the goods. She said that not all employers are ill-treating their domestic workers and there are still others who are kind-hearted enough to do these things.
Every year, thousands of Filipinos leave their families in the Philippines to find better-paying jobs abroad. Some might end up in the hands of ill-treating employers but there are still a lot who were destined to find an employer who will help them achieve their dreams in life.
