An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) expressed her anger online when her supposed happy vacation to the Philippines turned into a nightmare.

An OFW experienced one of the most frustrating things that any traveler will never dream about – the loss of personal belongings.

Flor Vigo went to the Philippines from Hong Kong where she worked as a domestic helper. However, she was devastated upon seeing her luggage slashed between her flight to Roxas City from Manila.

Moreover, upon seeing the inside of her luggage, Vigo was once again devastated when several of her items went missing. The missing items were chocolates and electronic gadgets which are Vigo’s ‘pasalubong’ to her family in the Philippines.

Upon seeing the situation of her luggage, Vigo filed a complaint against the management of Cebu Pacific, thinking that some of their staff were responsible for the theft.

“Hindi naman talaga ganoon kalaki ang halaga ng mga nawalang gamit,” says Vigo. “Yung mahal lang talaga ay yung maleta ko kasi bagong bili pa yun.”

Since the Facebook post of Vigo went viral, the NAIA staff immediately responded and promised to resolve the issue.

“Amin po tong ipapadala sa management ng Cebu Pacific upang ma-verify at maimbestigahan ang pangyayari. Puwede rin po kayong mag-iwan ng mensahe sa aming Facebook page para sa karagdagang detalye.”

The Cebu Pacific responded to the call and offered compensation for the losses of Vigo. However, the long-time OFW refused to accept the compensation to avoid accusations that she is only after money.
