An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Saudi Arabia has sought the help of a fellow OFW by handing a note with an SOS message.
The story was shared by Naijlez Azenadro on her Facebook on November 28. She narrated she was on her way home in the wee hours of the morning in Corniche Beach in A I Khobar when she spotted a Filipina with a piece of paper in hand.
The woman appears to be scared and desperate to hand the note to Azenadro.
Azenadro and the woman were waiting for their vehicles to arrive. The woman’s employer was also with her, and she appeared to want to hand the note to Azenadro.
Azenadro sat on the bench, hoping the woman would approach her. Instead, the woman threw the paper in her direction.
Upon reading the letter, Azenadro discovered that the woman was Renalyn Tominez from Lupao in Nueva Ecija. She was physically abused by her employer’s brother and sister and is asking for help. Her phone was also confiscated and she had no means of communication with her parents and the Embassy in Saudi Arabia. She also gave the numbers of her relatives in the Philippines.
Azenadro updated her Facebook post on December 1, saying Tominez’s family has been contacted, and said OFW is now safe.
