Crisis in Saudi Arabia OFWs Forced To Sleep in Cardboards

Wife of an Overseas Filipino Worker, Thea Reyes, is pleading for help so his husband cam return to the Philippines from Saudi Arabia. Her husband is experiencing tough times there because of the increasing tension and crisis in the country.

According to Thea, her husband Gilbert Reyes was not paid for seven months and the overtime pay was also not released. She added that it really pains her heart to see her husband suffering so much in Saudi.

Another OFW wife, Elvira Abrio, said that instead of receiving allotment from her husband in Saudi, she is the one who’s sending money to him just to sustain his basic needs. She even ended selling their motorcycle just to help his husband abroad. Her child also stopped going to school because of financial incapacity.

According to some OFW’s who just arrived from Saudi, their life there is like hell. Their fellow OFWs there don’t even have money to buy food, other are just selling chicken and other food just to sustain for their needs. They also don’t have accommodation and are just sleeping in the cardboard. The OFWs who just arrived from Saudi felt like so lucky compared their fellow countrymen who is still in Saudi.

They are also urging the government to help their fellow OFW in Saudi so they can go home to the Philippines.
