Never Post Online or Throw away your Boarding Pass. See the Reason Why?

We have seen posts of boarding passes from excited travellers all over social media. But did you know that you should not post these things online or even throw it away anywhere?

Boarding pass and Passport: These two serves a very important role when travelling. A boarding pass is a piece of card containing passenger’s name, flight number, gate number, destination and seat number. But most of us think that these passes becomes worthless after the flight.

That is certainly wrong! This is because, boarding passes has this barcode which contains personal information of passengers. And just with the use of bar code scanners, these personal information can get exposed to the public.

Name, home address, contact number, email address and even financial details are hidden behind the bar code. So if you leave behind your boarding pass or post pictures of it online, you are just allowing hackers to get to your personal details much easier than ever.

As a safety reminder, you need to make sure to keep your boarding pass with you even after the flight and dispose it properly so nobody can gain access to your personal information.
