32 Abused OFWs From Kuwait Comes Home To The Philippines

It is normally noisy in the arrival area of an airport. But to these OFWs from Kuwait, no one is there to meet them as they arrive to the country.

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration took the 32 OFWs who tried their luck in Kuwait but were deliberately abused by their employers.

Though no words were spoken as they travel towards the OWWA office, it is clearly visible in their eyes how they suffered while just trying to earn a living abroad.

Once inside the OWWA office, they were told about the help that they will receive from the government, starting from the food and accommodation up until their fare so they can finally go home to their families. Financial help is also provided so they can start their own business.

Jena, one of the OFW rescued by OWWA, said that she no longer plans to go back abroad because of the maltreatment and physical abuse she received from her employer. According to her, she was not allowed to rest from because she took care of 5 children. She complained regarding the abuse of her lady employer and she was thrown to the desert.

Sad to say, there are still a lot of Filipinos left in Kuwait waiting for the help from the government. They were also suffering from the hands of their abusive employers.
