A promising Filipina OFW in Dubai is captivating the viewer’s heart as she appears in Arab comedy series. Lara May Patricio who hails from Davao City, is making a name for herself in the showbiz industry in gulf region.

The popular Saudi sketch comedy series “Selfie 3” topped ratings region-wide via the Pan-Arab MBC network during Ramadan. The 29th episode talks about being kind to everyone. Patricio played “Monica” a nanny who serves very demanding family. The Saudi satirist, TV star and ‘Arabs Got Talent’ judge Nasser al-Qasabi is one of the main cast. Also with him are famous actors Remas Mansoor, Tariq Al Harbi, Habeeb Al Habeeb and Abrar Alkhafaji.
“I really enjoyed working with them. We were just having fun on the set. They’re so nice and I can’t believe I get the chance to work with famous people.”, the 28-year-old Patricio said.
Filipino community took to social media to praise Patricio’s performance in “Selfie 3” with one even commented, “She’s so talented, makes us proud Kababayan”.
The show is directed by the award-winning Iraqi Director Aws Al-Sharqi and is being aired in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE and other parts of the Middle East.
Patricio was discovered when she worked part time serving coffee and tea to MBC Channel staffs. She was then offered a minor role until became a regular guest. She is currently working as a lounge singer in a prominent hotel.
“Before I used to work with celebrities as tea lady and now as a co-star” said Patricio.
This is not the first time Patricio appeared on Arab TV. She was also part in MBC’s ”Al Sadma” a social experiment where a maid maltreated by her employer in public. The video then became viral and attracted reactions from netizens.
