Tatlong Pinay Na Mandurokot Huli sa isang Shopping Road sa Singapore

In Singapore, the police had arrested 3 suspects who allegedly worked as a group to pickpocket shoppers along Orchard Road.  Later on, the suspects had been identified as Filipino women.

In a report made by TODAY, victims had reported separate cases of theft where the suspects were able to steal wallets and mobile phones from their bags while they were busy doing their shopping on December 21, 2017, Thursday.

The police believed that this had been a long-time modus operandi by the Filipinas where they intend to distract their victims before they would steal their valuables.  They were also establishing the fact that the same people were involved in the previous incidents of pickpocketing.

The three women will be charged before the court on Saturday.  If convicted, they would be facing 3 years imprisonment or will be demanded to pay a penalty.  Otherwise, both may be imposed based on the court’s decision.

The police then reminded the public to be vigilant on public places and secure their valuables and belongings most especially in crowded places during this Christmas season.

Three mobile phones, an EZ Link card, one internet banking dongle and cash amounting to S$1,117.20 were recovered from the suspects which serve as exhibits and evidence against them in court.

Meanwhile, upon learning this incident, many OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) were saddened by the fact that their good image was somehow affected by some “kababayans” who were engaged in illegal activities.  They claimed they had worked really hard to gain the trust of their employers and other people yet some had not given importance to their good reputation.
