It seems like the number of abuses in Saudi Arabia towards Filipino domestic helpers are growing at an alarming rate.
Just recently, another OFW claimed that she was s3xually abused by her employer.
According to the said OFW, she was abused inside a car for hours, countless times. She had the chance to escape.
Luckily, a fellow Filipino found her on the streets, without shoes and Abaya. She took care of the abused Filipina and promised to send her to the Philippine Overseas Labour Organization(POLO) to ask for further help.
The OFW is now in the custody of POLO as they attend to her aid. With the help of government organizations like POLO, Philippine Embassy, OWWA, and DFA, this Filipina will acquire the rightful justice for her.
As of the moment, she is in the custody of good people. Somehow, she should be able to get through her current situation.
Saudi Arabia, home to hundreds of thousands of Filipinos, offers a greener pasture for Filipinos who are working hard for their families in the Philippines. However, the alarming rate of abuse causes safety concerns among OFW. This issue must be addressed before it becomes too late.
