A concerned Overseas Filipino Worker is asking for help for her fellow OFW because they are being maltreated by their employers.
In a post shared by Facebook user Arbaya Sambad Kasan, she narrated her encounter with two young Filipina domestic helpers in Saudi Arabia, where she is also working as an OFW.
According to her, the two OFWs were working just beside her employer’s house. After a short encounter on the rooftop of their employer’s house, they started to share their situation through secret letters thrown into the window.
The two domestic workers confessed that they are physically abused by their employers. Even their food, they are only given expired ones which they are forced to consume to relieve their hunger.
The two do not have other means to ask for help because they don’t have mobile phones to reach out to their agency or to government agencies. Additionally, their employer’s house is full of CCTV, making it tougher for them to escape from where they are located. Even the salary that they worked hard for in the past two years was not given to them.
All they wanted is to return home as soon as possible. However, their employer always says that the Jeddah airport is closed.
Arbiya is hoping that through this Facebook post, the two OFWs will receive the help that they desperately need. According to Arbiya, she tried to contact several government agencies to no avail.
The names of the maltreated OFWs are Hania Salim Labay and Baisora Papua Buka. Arbaya is hoping that the families of Hania and Baisora will know their situation in Saudi Arabia and ask for help so they can be repatriated as soon as possible.
Their agency in Manila is ABCA International Corp located at Cubao, Quezon City.
