Kuwait has been in the news for quite some time because Overseas Filipino Workers there, especially those working in the domestic industry are being treated unfairly by their employers. In fact, there are even cases in which the physical abuse is too bad resulting which resulted to their deaths.
This time, another OFW is in need of help after suffering maltreatment from employers. In a series of photos, OFW Reyna Edna Manalop had wounds all over her body. It seems like her employer used a sharp object to draw those lines on the Filipina’s body.
Her sister with the Facebook name Anna Galbi Habibi, took to social media to air her concern on the condition of her sister. According to Anna, her sister has been continuously maltreated by her employer, resulting in the wounds seen in the picture.
Meanwhile, they already contacted the agency of the OFW in the Philippines which is the M&M Recruitment Agency. But the agency failed to respond for help and couldn’t even be reached.
The family of the OFW is afraid that the worst things could happen to Reyna. Since news of abuse towards OFWs especially in Middle East countries is quite rampant, they are asking for immediate help to end the sufferings of their relative.
On the other hand, netizens sympathized with the OFW and thinks that her employer is the worst.
“May amo talagang gago,” says one commenter.
“Walang maaasahan sa agency. Dalhin niyo sa POLO,” says another netizen.
Other netizens also assume that secretly escaping from her employer and going to the Philippine Embassy is the best thing she could do.
