A Filipino in Japan didn’t hesitate to save a woman who tried to take her own life by jumping from a bridge.

Emil Rebejo Vega was about to go home when he saw a woman on the bridge attempting to jump from it.

Vega immediately runs to the woman to save her. He managed to hold the woman’s hand, preventing her from jumping off the bridge.

Vega also asked for the assistance of the local police to handle the situation.

To honor the heroic gesture of the OFW, Vega was acknowledged by the Asaka City police force and he was given an award.

Vega was living in Japan for 16 years.
