Saudi Arabia’s civil defense confirmed a Filipino family of four was among those injured. This news has not reached the Department of Foreign Affairs, however.

The Manila Times reported the Filipino family threw out a mattress before jumping from the fourth floor of the burning building.

Reports said a short circuit caused the fire, which started at the basement of Radium Residential Complex, a gated community composed of 486 residential units within eight six-storey buildings.

Saudi Aramco is the world’s largest oil company in terms of crude production and exports. It has 61,000 workers in 777 countries worldwide, 3,000 of which are Filipinos.

Acting President and CEO Amin H. Nasser said they are committed to ensure the safety and well-being of their employees and their families.
