MIAA Spokesperson Responds To The Slashing of Balikbayan Box

A recent incident of alleged theft amounting to P50, 000 worth of valuables taken away from an OFW has become the latest controversy involving MIAA authorities.

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) pledged their full cooperation upon the issue of missing valuables upon checking in their luggage. According to the spokesperson of MIAA, missing baggage and other variables should be reported as soon as possible. You can coordinate with any airport person as soon as you’ve noticed that something is missing in your things.

The issue prompted after a missing baggage of Maria Melencia Nabor containing shoes, and jewelries amounting to P50,000 went missing on her arrival last Tuesday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

De Castro immediately responded to the issue, promising to coordinate with the respected officials or the proceedings of the entire case. He also said MIAA is bounded with lots of CCTV’s that will surely help for faster solution.

De Castro added that though she is confident with the capacity of their airline, she also said that some of their employees were on standby to address the concerns of their passengers.
