Recently, a video of an interview with a Jordanian celebrity, singer and actress Mais Hamdan in a comedy show went viral on social media after she mocked Filipino’s accent for mispronouncing certain English words.
The video earned varied reactions from the netizens who mostly are enraged because they felt the Jordanian had belittled the Filipinos.
Earlier, Mais Hamdan posted on her Instagram account and expressed her sincerest apologies to everyone, particularly to the Filipinos.
First of all, I would like to apologize from the bottom of my heart and to say that I did not really mean to insult or mock or hurt anyone.
I did not mean to cause or to be the reason for negativity.
I’m an actress and a comedian, and you know, my job is to sometimes impersonate and imitate languages, different and various dialects.
I do actors, anchors, celebrities, and you know, I do it with a little bit exaggeration to just to add a comic factor.
I’ve never meant to insult anyone and never, it was never meant to be serious.
You know what I mean?
I hope you guys, understand where I’m coming from.
All I want is to throw a smile on your faces, no more, no less.
Please accept my apologies.

@Mohamed Muneer yes some Filipinos in arab nations don’t have an accent but for your information most of them didn’t even go to middle school or college but know how to speak English. Try speaking to professional Filipinos and you’ll see who’s accent is rotten like a garbage.

@Mohamed Muneer YOU MUST BE TALKING ABOUT YOURSELF. Do you even know what accent means? Filipinos do have accent, some has British and some has American and even ARABIC ACCENT, which is the worst.
